Farmers in Marathwada are currently facing severe drought. Due to scarcity of water, water has to be fetched from far away in many places
Moreover, since the time has come to satisfy the thirst of people on tanker water, the question is facing the farmers, from where to get the water and fodder required for the livestock. Therefore, the farmers are helpless, they have sell their life-saving animals at the market to very low price.
A large number of bulls and animals are being sold today in almost all the bull markets in every district of Marathwada
Because fodder is running out for the animals, there is no water to drink, so farmers are seen selling bullocks at the price they can get instead of tying them to the run. In the villages where there is drought, no one is ready to give away girls, so the boys remain unmarried.
Deputy Minister Devendra Fadnavis allocates 20000 crores to end the drought of Marathwada in 2023. But is it really benefiting common people?
Drought in Marathwada is intensifying day by day for two and a half months.
In all this commotion, Marathwada has become a center of drought tourism. The sighting tours by NCP leaders, Sharad Pawar, Ashok Chavan’s drought conference and visit to the land in the background stirred up politics.
But in reality nothing has happened to the farmers due to these visits.
The government and the people have some sort of solution to the ever-occurring drought.
Due to frequent water withdrawals the water level has gone very deep. Everyone should think about increasing ground water level for future betterment.
The water has been drawn to such a great extent that now not a drop of water is left in the wells or water comes from any bores or hand pumps.
A permanent solution should be taken on this, otherwise there will be a huge movement of people in the future, it cannot be said.
